The Celestial Full Moon Ring: Wearable Poetry of the Mid-Autumn Festival
The Full Moon Ring was originally created for my 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival collection, a tradition I have celebrated through my jewellery since 2021.
Growing up in Hong Kong, the Mid-Autumn Festival has always been one of my favourite holidays. I remember competing with my friends and cousins to see who had the coolest lantern, and inevitably gaining a few pounds after eating far too many mooncakes.
Inspired by those memories, I sculpted a moon with a face on each side of the ring. In Chinese culture, the full moon symbolizes reunion and togetherness, reminding us that no matter how far apart we may be, we can still look up and share the same moon.
From 2026 onwards, the Full Moon Ring will only be available during selected preorder openings on the fifteenth day of the Chinese calendar (農曆十五), known as the day of the full moon.
